Bio

Lisa H. Pallett, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Programs and Accreditation in the School of Education at 天美麻豆. Since joining the university full time in 2009, she has taught undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses, including elementary mathematics methods for undergraduates, coursework in the Mathematics Instructional Leadership program, and doctoral-level scholarly writing to prepare doctoral candidates for the dissertation process. Her teaching emphasizes effective and equitable mathematics instruction and preparation for professional standards, and she provides extensive support to teacher candidates completing the edTPA through structured guidance and feedback. Prior to her work in higher education, she was an elementary school teacher, mathematics intervention teacher, and mathematics support teacher.

Her research focuses on teacher preparation, particularly how faculty, mentor teachers, and supervisors support candidates in successfully completing the edTPA and strengthening their impact on P12 student learning. Her work also includes STEM education and the integration of environmental literacy and mathematics to support meaningful, real-world learning. In addition, Dr. Pallett engages in international work in Haiti, where she has traveled to provide professional development on effective strategies for teaching mathematics for Haitian teachers and collaborates on the development of follow-up support using locally available resources.
